Description

Back on South African Railways, we see 25NC 4-8-4 No. 3454 'City of Kimberley', with its distinctive side-by-side double exhaust, leaving Orange River on May 17. 1997. Note the classic semaphore signalling and the clerestory roofed former Blue Train coaches. This is the returning Union Limited from Bulawayo heading for Cape Town.

That's an interesting contrast, British inspired signalling, with an Australian-looking 4-8-4. South Africa and India have an interesting mix.
