This series of pictures, taken on April 11, 1977, and scanned from 35mm (I think Fujichrome) transparencies follow on from my gallery picture 'Change for the Lakes' when Class 40 BR diesel No. 40108 had dropped me off at Ulverston, Cumbria, UK.
Our journey starts at Haverthwaite, where the appropriately-named Austerity 0-6-0ST 'Cumbria' and former Courtaulds large Peckett 0-4-0ST 'Caliban' are seen running around a recently arrived service. 'Caliban' had been painted in a version of the pleasing Caledonian ('Caley') blue livery, with white and black lining.

Caley blue does look nice, although it better suits an Andrew Barclay I think.
